In an escape attempt, DeVoe arrives, killing Gregory and draining the powers of the metahumans before taking over the body of Becky Sharpe. In prison, Barry is discovered to be the Flash, and the prison’s Warden, Gregory Wolfe, plans to sell him and The Thinker’s captured creations to Amunet Black, a metahuman who trades in superheroes and technology on the blackmarket. DeVoe, however, still lives, his mind transferred into the body for Dominic Lanse, one of the twelve metahumans created in The Thinkers plot. Finding a camera in the Samuroid’s head, DeVoe is finally revealed to be The Thinker.Īfter a short misadventure on Earth-X, Barry escapes a kidnapping by DeVoe, but is framed for the man’s murder and sentenced to life in prision. In order to survive, DeVoe requires a special chair that staves off the advances of his disease. After interrogating both DeVoe and his wife, they discover that his powers come from a “thinking cap” engineered by his wife that grants him a mighty intellect but advances his deadly illness. Training Ralph to use his powers, they pursue the mysterious DeVoe, arriving at his recently discovered house to find not an imposing villain, but a middle aged man in a wheelchair instead.
Despite his criminal past, Ralph becomes an official member of the team.

It is revealed a man named Clifford DeVoe instructed Ralph to watch over the adulterous Mayor Anthony Bellows, which lead to a series of disastrous blackmail attempts. Team Flash tracks down one such meta human, Ralph Dibney, now known as the Elongated Man due to his stretching powers. It becomes clear that The Thinker has manipulated the events surrounding Barry’s return, in the process creating twelve new meta humans as part of his dastardly plan. Now revealed as “The Thinker”, it becomes clear that this new antagonist may be involved in creating villains like Deacon, and that there are many more lying in wait. The “Samuroid” turns out to be controlled by a mysterious man in a high tech wheelchair who seeks to draw the Flash out for his nefarious schemes.īarry gets an upgraded new suit to chase after the technology controlling Ramesy Deacon, who turns out to be part of the mysterious man’s plot.
